On my way north on Friday the Gridserve chargers at Grantham offered to set up Autocharge. It didn't work when I was returning south today. Has anyone got it to work? I don't remember seeing the option before so it might be very new.
I also realised that I should have joined grisderve+ for the month - even one big charge would break even at 7.99 for 25% off.

Last October when I was coming back from Brighton and queueing up for my breakfast roll in the Costa Coffee at Pease Pottage, Gridserve suddenly offered me the Autocharge feature. I accepted. My next charging stop was Cherwell Valley and it worked! Although I did stand over the car till I was sure it was happening. Didn't use Gridserve the rest of the journey.

But then in December I was on a Gridserve at Killington Lake and it absolutely didn't work. However there was some funny stuff with the cables, my cable was in use by the car in the other bay on the charger, so I had to use its cable, and when the driver of the other car came back she said she had changed cables because she couldn't get the one on her side to work. It did actually work for me, but it wasn't playing on the Autocharge feature.

Don't know if this may be useful.

I'm not sure he's right. The chargers at Pease Pottage, where I got the notification, were just the ordinary sort. But the point is, I was already queueing for my breakfast before it came through. I had my phone in my hand to check that the car was charging properly, and the notification just popped up. I wasn't expecting it, I didn't know it was a thing, although I had heard rumours. I don't think he waited long enough. (I'd probably been to the loo before I went to get breakfast, then I spent a while choosing from the menu.)

The charger it didn't work on, at Killington Lake, was one of the super-dooper extra-high-power all-singing-all-dancing things.

Never used a Gridserve. Couldn’t charge on Tesla in Fort William. Must contact them ‘cos I pay a subscription.
Finally charged at the third of the EZO chargers ( formerly CPS) after seeking advice from the EZO helpline in Cork - he said get the EZO app. I said I didn’t have a good signal so he couldn’t help. I tried a Tesla again before finally using the Basil Failty manoeuvre on the lone EZO at the end of the Tesla lineup. It quivered a bit then surrendered and finally charged £17 via Electroverse to get home. My previous charge was £18 at the EZO unit in Kyleakin on Skye. Last night’s top up back to 83% (from not much left in the tank when I finally got home) cost £1.58.
Whatever happened to those batteries on trailers that were trialed ?? Since I can’t fill a Jerry can with Octopi ??

my experience with gridserve is so inconsistent i'm not surprised.

fastned's autocharge has never let me down even through Europe

Does Tesla hate Berlingos or something? Does everyone hate Berlingos?
