Has anyone got one of those AI boxes?

I'm talking about those ones that have an android system built in along with support for car play, so you can play YouTube, download apps etc... And use your screen like a tablet.

I had a carlinkit one for a while. Ended up selling it. CarPlay is so much better.

I also tried one of those really cheap ones so I could watch YouTube on my screen while charging. The lip sync was terrible and as a CarPlay box it was 4-5 seconds behind on the nav. If you pay the postage you can have it. It’s sat in my garage.

I heard you can compensate for the delay in settings somewhere. Also apparently the cheap ones mirror carplay and don't do it properly hence the delay.

You can to a extent but they are that cheap they don’t have the processing power to keep up.

The top of the range carlinkit ones are ok for about £100.
