Having an EV tariff increases the daily tariff !

Not having FIT, I don't really understand how it works that you'd end up using peak-rate power, but I hear it's a great deal if you managed to get it.
On ECO+ it will maintain a minimum of 1.4kW by adding grid power to the solar. You can set the maximum amount of grid as a percentage. So if the CT clamp detects you are sending 1.9kW to the grid it will divert that to the car, if a cloud comes over and your excess drops to 900W then it will add 500W grid power so long as you have the percentage green to at least 50% to keep the charge going. If however you put the kettle on it will pause the charge until the excess is restored. Not usually an issue except when you want a continuous charge or the car rejects the charge if it stops and starts too often in a period of time. If you use just ECO then it is the same as setting the green percentage to 0, that it will supply at least 1.4Kw up to your excess going to the grid.

With FIT you get paid for every kWh generated no matter how you use it, you also get additional payments if you export.
Almost, we do not have an export meter so we are on the deemed export rate. Which for us is around 19p for everything generated plus just over 7p for 50% of what we have generated, that is our deemed export, this works out to around 23p per kWh generated even if we use all of it ourselves. I think that's why if you add a home battery, some companies require you to have an export meter and pay SEG rather than the deemed export part, you still get the generation payment though.

Oh crikey, that sounds complicated!
I must admit last year I just left it to smart charge, sometimes it would add 3+kW to my solar excess to give me 7kW, or just charge overnight but I've found that since last autumn the choppy nature of smart charges sometimes cause the car to abort the charge. Not a problem if it happens during day but a right pain if it does it at 2am when you are needing a full charge the next day.

Here's it in action, was charging at 2.8kW then the dishwasher kicked in to start drying.
