Hello Aussies

Same here, though choices here are still seem very limited and pricey.
The BYD Atto 3 looked 'interesting' to me until I noticed the recent price jump from $45,000 to $48,011. But they are said to be readily available.

Stuck in "hurry up and wait" mode for a while yet it seems.

Welcome aboard Bazza and BJ , you,ll find we are an international bunch, but with the same complaints/issues , I,ve been waiting 4 months with a possible 2-3 to go for delivery . I myself am in France, wine and rugby but not cricket, there is here a good forum which you can read with "translate" on Automobile Propre and search MG4. Bit difficult to post though. Good luck.

Many thanks Big Al for the welcome.

Its good to see the range of issues that have emerged for the MG4 and keep track of developments.

MG Australia recently 'refined' the date for their release here from 2H2023 to 3Q2023 but as usual we will just have to wait and see what actually happens.

No word if orders will actually be taken in 3Q2023 but another 6 months (or so) until delivery after that.

Hopefully MG's Quality Control issues will be addressed by then and the easing of global supply line problems from Covid etc will improve availability as should China's opening up after Covid.

So it could be 9 months plus before delivery here.

Pricing is yet to be announced as well and the hares are running on that as would be expected -
2023 MG 4 initial details for Australia, due by October

My guess is $45,000 (approx UK Pounds 25,000 ) but some media are spruiking $40,000 which would surprise me - again who knows?

...
I may ask for a test drive of the BYD Atto in the meantime -

They are said to have availability now.

But its really the MG4 I prefer.

The NSW Government have a $3,000 rebate for new full battery electric vehicles purchased for a dutiable value of less than $68,750 (approx UK Pounds 37,600 ) and there are probably similar schemes in the other states, or will be in due course etc.

Electric Vehicle Rebate

Good luck Big Al for early delivery of your MG4. :)

Enjoy the wine in the meantime.

Could you guys order a UK MG4 and get it shipped to Australia - No idea on costs for shipping or feasibility - Just curious ..
The raw shipping cost is something like £2-£3k but that's not the problem, usually it is the import duty, customs paperwork, import licence, compliance rework for different regs, inspection and certification / registration that are the challenges. There are agents that can do it but it all adds cost and delay. Plus you are talking months before it even gets there.

Some friends of mine shipped their motorbikes to South America and then to New Zealand and had spent 3 months touring round both places by which time the bikes were on their last legs. It was cheaper to ship them back to the UK and scrap them than leave them in New Zealand and pay import duty and scrap charges.
