Help (private plate)

I collected my new pre registered yesterday car on the dvla plates.
I want to change them to a private plate, waiting for retention certificate.
I'm thinking of buying a service plan?
Do I register the service plan on the DVLA plate or a private plate?
Just thought it would confuse thier data bases if on a private plate when it comes to the service etc.

Did you not get a pdf download or reference number of the retention document. Sure that you can remove and apply to new car on the same day. Or, I might be wrong

You don't have to register for a service plan immediately so just wait until the new number is in the system and use that.

No they told me that the both cars have to be in my name.
Hence the wating for the v5 to come for old car and retention certificate.
Then wait for the new v5 for the new car to come.
The change the new car v5 to the private plate.
Luckly the car tax will change automatically to private plate
