HELP with keyless start MG4, emergency please

Have lost car key, am in car using app to unlock and when I press keyless start on app it says successful ....but not going anywhere. Know have to press brake but on youtube video says then to press start/stop button, but we dont have one do we ?? Sorry panicking now ...pleaee help me !

Its an MG4 Trophy BTW, 2023.

When I press brake it says smart key not detected, and nothing happens when I turn the dial to D.

When I press keyless start in app it says successful, but then apparently I need another start button ?

Have you tried getting out, locking it, opening it then trying again? If I recall correctly you have to do the keyless start within a certain amount of time… although I may have imagined that!

Thanks for all the replies....no idea why it won't work....currently being rescued by my son with the spare key so that better work so I can get home ....I will ring MG tomorrow and try and find out why and will post solution on here as may be useful for others in future.

I don't drive but I have set up my phone with the app so I can unlock and lock the car with it.

Also, I have set up the key. In doing this, I had to hold it up against the boss of the steering wheel.

Once it was all set up, it worked fine. I can tap keyless start, then lean on the driver seat squab and everything fires up. I can turn the selector to drive and it asks for the brake to be depressed ("You're a rubbish brake, you're no good at all, you've never been good at anything your whole life!"), so I assume the car is ready to drive on the e-key.

Wow, thank you, my app is set up and links to car but not done anything with the key so I'll try that tomorrow.

Sadly it took a couple of years for me to be able to use the Bluetooth key. I think all the planets have to be perfectly aligned for it to work ie car software, iSmart version and phone version.

I would never rely on it for day to day use

On mine I have to press the brake quite hard and the pedal suddenly drops a bit then the car fires up in READY mode.

I've NEVER got mine to work. I bought the car because it had a Bluetooth key as I wanted to go completely key free (don't have a house key anymore) but, despite about 5 or 6 trips to the dealership it's never been fixed and they don't know what's wrong with it. I've tried about 6 different phones from 4 different manufacturers and 2 different operating systems (Android and iOS). Still nothing.

I've set mine up and proved it works just in case. Once the phone key has been activated on the phone you have to press the brake pedal within I think it is 90 seconds of hitting keyless start on the phone.
