Hello all,

Walked out to my 2024 MG ZS EV after 2 weeks not driving, pressed the key fob...nothing. Thought it might be dead, changed the fob battery, still nothing. Used the emergency key to get in, tried to start, dead as...

Waiting for RAC to give me an arrival time but, in the meantime, any advice or suggestions?

Thought as much! Unfortunately, I don't have one. On the Amazon as we speak...Any advice for when I do get it?
The pack may not have enough charge when it gets delivered, you may have to fully charge it first, then you can :-
Pop the bonnet and then take your booster pack and connect it to your 12 volt battery as follows.
Connect the pair of jumper leads that came with the unit, to the booster pack.
Take the RED crocodile clamp from the booster pack and connect it to the POSITIVE side of your 12 volt battery.
Then do the same with the BLACK clamp onto the NEGATIVE side of the battery.
Depending on the type / make of booster pack you have chosen, there will be a small booster button located somewhere on the unit itself.
When you are connected and ready, press the boost button and then head straight for the drivers seat without delay.
Now press the footbrake and hit the START button, the car should boot up as normal.
Note :- The booster pack has a “time out” period, so if you don’t go straight to the car and start it, you may have to go back and press the boost button again.
After the car is up and running, return to the booster pack and unclip the clamps one at a time from your battery.
I would recommend that you use a smart 12 volt battery charger and put a full charge into your now depleted battery.
It could be that the 12 volt battery is unrecoverable, if the battery runs flat again, then replace it !.
Members of this forum strongly recommends that all EV owners should invest in a booster pack and keep it under the drivers seat.
Now you fully understand why !.
This way you are not waiting for the recovery services to carry out what you can do for yourself in less than five minutes.
Why the RAC when you have MG Assistance supported by the AA ?.

Many thanks for this! Not sure how I will be able to keep a battery charger connected to the battery as my car is parked on a busy North London street...could I place it under the bonnet?
Also ordered a 10mm spanner!

You could yea, but I am not sure how you are going to power it from a mains supply ?.

As to why the RAC and not the AA...I am no longer covered despite having had the car serviced at the same MG dealers I bought it from. Am I surprised that MG have fed me a load of ****, no I am not!

It is the responsibility of the dealer who serviced the car, to renew your A.A. cover on an annual basis, as laid down under the T&C’s from MG.
If they have failed in their duties to do this, then the dealer is totally negligent and the dealer should correct it with the A.A.
It is not MG directly for this renewal, it’s the dealer !.
If they appear disinterested, then present them with a bill for any out of pocket expenses you have under taken ( your booster pack ) and the invoice for covering your car with the RAC.
Had they have done the job correctly, you would be in this situation now 🤬.

Do you have the receipts for the service work ?.
If so, contact MG CS and explain the situation, they may authorise your new dealer to correct the issue retrospectively?.
After all, the old dealer was representing the MG brand at the time and MG do have a duty of care to look after their customers.
