What’s the best/efficient home chargers people are getting I’ve looked at a couple pod point, egg, any suggestions on any cheaper options?

Likewise with Zappi, or even Wallbox. If you're not after a time of day tariff (they don't suit everyone) then pretty much any 7kW EVSE will do.

Also do you have or considering getting solar panels? as some have features to work with solar better

If you want to take advantage of Octopus's tariffs then you will need a compatible charger, either an Ohme or a Zappi. The Zappi if you want to add solar or batteries at a later date.

If you just want a cheap charger ask whoever is doing the instillation what they recommend as if there are any problems they will have to sort it out. Or see if your energy supplier has any offers on EV chargers and instillation.

The Zappi works really well with intelligent octopus go tariff. Registered the Zappi, linked account to octopus, now when car is plugged in I get a notification on the phone when it will start charging at the cheaper rate. Initial cost is more expensive but huge savings on the tariff if charging a lot.

We've been very happy with our Hypervolt. The electrician who fitted it was also impressed.
