So a couple of days ago when I was reversing my wife heard a weird scraping noise from my car.
So today I was driving back from work and the rear axle / brakes or something was making a really loud metallic scraping noise - this continued for about 2 miles, I was going over speed humps to try and shake off the noise or whatever was scraping.

Then suddenly it just stopped ?

Anyone got any kind of scooby doo what the noise could have been ?

Im awaiting a call from the dealer who I bought car off but I am going on a trip to customers 90 miles away on Wednesday so really hoping someone has possibly experienced before - can't think how some form of metallic bit could have maybe got wedged somewhere ?

Cheers

Ade

I’ve had that once after going down a gravel track. It does sound like you’re towing 2 tonne of scrap metal…

Tried reversing etc but it didn’t work. I could see the small stone caught in the near side rear brake disc back plate.

I managed to poke it out with a screwdriver. Handy having big gaps between the wheel spokes!
