Just wondering if anyone has similar issues. Seems my MG4 doesn't like being left to get hot and will begin alerting non stop about all various things like EPS, Speed warnings and collision assist etc...

After some time of driving (maybe cooled down) or a hard stop it seems to stop and things go back to normal.

Thing is EPS reduction does make the steering heavy. Car has already been in to the dealer who didn't find anything and applied some updates (unsure what updates).

I've also had this directly after a service as the car was left in the sun at the garage. Again car had to be returned for the garage to update something.

Not this week, but during the previous 'heat wave' I got into the car just to move it, and I had warning lights of all colours flashing at me, and oh boy, the seats were bloody hot.

Powering down and restarting cured everything (apart from the hot seats).

Nope can't say I've experienced this. And we've had some bloody hot days this year, where it's been parked for hours, in the sun. 🤔

I can’t say I’ve ever had this problem during our hot Aussie summers, with outside temps reaching 40°C. But I do always cool down the interior remotely before getting in on those days.

Wasn’t there a thread a while ago about someone having issues on cold days that would go away when heating the cabin? I think they ended up suspecting condensation in the front sensor housing near the rear view mirror, but it can’t recall if that even got confirmed.

Edit; found these two threads:

No such problems/warnings here in Cyprus where we get very hot summers. It's been above 30C here since early June, 40C+ some days.

I am the OP for the second post mentioned above. The warnings I get are similar but not quite the same (no EPS warnings). They only happen when the temperature outside is warm and the car has heated up in the sunshine. No sign of condensation but running the air con on cold makes the car cool down and the problem go away. I’ve been told by my local dealer that a new front view camera module is needed and is booked in early September for this. I’ll keep you updated.

Yes I’ve had this a couple of times with mine. It seems to do it when facing in to direct sun and facing slightly uphill towards it (my drive).

I haven't had that issue with mine. It's just your now standard noisy (random bongs and beeps) modern computerised nanny masquerading as a car.

MG4 billy basic version
I live in SW France had the car 18 months. No heat issues at all and it’s regularly over 40c the the summer.

I don't know if you have tried this, but I cover the front screen with a sun shield on the outside of the car and I've not had any of the problems mentioned above.
I also have a mat that covers the whole of the dashboard and it helps to stop glare on the windscreen.
Before I did that I literally couldn't touch the steering wheel..

Live West coast Oz and temps get very high during summer. Neither heat, 40c plus nor cold (recent 2 and 3c) have generated any errors in the cars 44,000 kms. Don't always remember to put on aircon on hot days before driving so car is crazy hot (thank God it's not full leather seats). Aircon cools interior pretty quick. Love the heated seats and steering wheel during this unusually cold spell we are having this year..oh and I do feel for all of you in colder climates as the cold mornings, really does impact range a hell of a lot. An increase of around 2% to 3% in consumption. I.e normally 5% per 30km or 1% per 6km in usual warm days. Recently around 7% for the same 30km.

No, never seen any of these in the 2 years 4 months I've had the car, and the car is out in the open the whole time

Been having these issues for a while - never twigged about it coinciding with heat.
Car in garage tomorrow with a threat of £137 diagnostics charge if they cant find anything. Luckily have video and photographs of the alerts as proof and wont be paying the dealers threwtening diagnostic charges. Will add this thread to the info when I drop it off. MG5 Trophy.
