How do switch between EV and Petrol mode on MG HS new model

Hello @Stevet61, welcome to the forum, this is from the manual, but I don't think you can have petrol only, it's either EV, or HEV.

Thanks @siteguru, moved.

Have you spotted that you can manually change from EV to HEV mode in the infotainment system?
This can be a distraction when doing 70mph on a busy motorway so many of us have set one of the customising buttons to do this.
In the recent cold weather the car has regularly started in HEV mode to warm the battery, heat the car etc. It is now easy to push it back into EV mode as soon as two blue bars light up on the temperature gauge.
I also regularly use this button on a long journey. I start off in EV mode and then once I'm cruising on the motorway (around 30 miles) I switch to HEV and the car will self charge during my journey back up to around 60 miles. I then monitor the satnav and when my remaining mileage to my destination reduces to 55 miles I push it back into EV mode. This means I will arrive at my destination having maximised my use of the available battery power.

How do I swich from EV to petrol mode on new HS model

Did you find out how to do it? Please could you explain to me if so. Thank you

In case it's helpful, here's a step-by-step answer to the original question (from @Stevet61 later also by @lblb91 ) :
+++++++++++++++++
1. Swipe your infotainment screen to the left to reveal these icons:

2. Tap 'Vehicle' icon
3. In the tab 'Driving' locate the section 'Power Source'

- Tap to change to either EV or HEV.
+++++++++++++++++

However, as @BarrieG says, many people have customised their * button to perform the above task. So I recommend that you:

1. Open the 'Vehicle' icon (see above)
2. Click tab 'Convenience'
3. Change one of the buttons to be 'Power Source':

4. Then, whenever you want to toggle between EV and HEV, just press the button on the steering wheel, for example:

+++++++++++++++++
Note: Depending on what you are doing with the car at the time, the change will not be instant.
- If you are doing 70mph in HEV mode, and change to EV, it may be several minutes before it changes (depending on other factors). However, typically when you brake to less than 30-40mph it should soon kick into EV mode.

Hi,
Do you know how to change the custom button menu to include power source as an option. I have an HS PHEV 75 reg, option to select power source does not appear, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
