Hi all,

I've just bought a demo Cyberster with the grey seats. The seats though are a little dirty and I'm wondering how you clean your seats and what products you use? I tried using Armor All car upholstery cleaner which did not help. What are your thoughts?

Isn’t it a bit worrying when a dealer sells a demonstration car with dirty seats? If even the dealer can’t get the seats clean, how are customers supposed to manage it?

I’d like to ask that very salesperson if they can’t do something about it.

That's a fair point though they told me they cleaned it when I got it and car dealerships aren't renown for their after sales care. Unfortunately, they don't seem to know much about the Cyberster given they rarely sell them.

Regardless, I still want to clean them. Or if I can't, then look at after market replacement leather/faux leather seats. That might be my next post if I can't get them clean enough.

I've recently bought a Cyberster. Dealer offers us all all kinds of, additional-cost, "Paint protection" etc, which we declinded. I'm planning to get a Detailer to do it, I reckon the hood needs something to protect it too - and I will probably add PPF.

My grey seats definitely need something to both clean them, and to then keep them in good shape, and its done less than 5,000 miles.

The first car I bought (new) which was sufficiently expensive for me to be concerned about stone chips etc I took to a high-end PPF detailer. They said "Don't let the dealer touch it" and "We say the same thing to everyone, whether its a Ferrari or a Trabant!"

Agree. 🙂👍

I found these instructions from what I believe to be is the upholstery manufacturer
www.dinamicasuede.com

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Due to its versatility, maximum performance and high quality, Dinamica® microfiber is

suitable for a variety of applications. Or better, it is the perfect product for many

applications. Such as automotive, fashion and furnishing.

Thanks to its technical properties, Dinamica is resistant over time. However, to

preserve its quality as long as possible, it is highly recommended to follow some simple

rules of cleaning and maintenance.

ORDINARY MAINTENANCE

To maintain over time the beauty of Dinamica, it is recommended to clean it regularly,

avoiding to rub too vigorously and avoiding the use of high-temperature steam

appliances.

DAILY CLEANING

It is sufficient to remove dust from Dinamica using either a soft brush or a dry cloth, or

vacuum cleaner.

WEEKLY CLEANING

After removing dust from Dinamica, wipe it with a slightly damp white cotton cloth.

Please avoid the use of printed absorbent cloths/papers as they could release ink onto

the material.

ANNUAL CLEANING

If the upholstery is removable, it is advisable to wash it in the washing-machine

proceeding as indicated below (general washing rules). If the upholstery is not

removable, it is possible to use products by Uniters Spa for the cleaning of Dinamica,

as indicated in the website www.dinamicasuede.com.

In the absence of the products, proceed as follows: dust thoroughly the material;

moisten a soft cloth or a sponge in clean water, wring it well and roll it over the

Dinamica material making sure not to wet it too deeply; roll once again with a damp

cloth in clean water and leave to dry thoroughly. Once dried, to restore the material,

brush it delicately with a soft bristle brush.

GENERAL WASHING RULES

If, due to large stains, a complete cleaning of the removable upholstery is required,

proceed as follows:

• If the upholstery is removable, Dinamica can be easily washed in the washing-machi-

ne with water at 40°C and mild detergent; do not spin.

• If there are Velcro fastenings along the edges of the upholstery, make sure to protect

them with counter-Velcro before washing, in order not to damage the material.

• Once washed, let the upholstery dry in the open air and brush it delicately with a soft

bristle brush.

• Do not bleach Dinamica with chlorine.

• If necessary, Dinamica can be ironed, with the accuracy of putting a white cloth

between iron and material. The iron must be set at a temperature lower than 100°C.

• For the cleaning of non-removable upholstery, proceed following what indicated in

the “Annual cleaning” section.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR STAIN REMOVAL

Use a white cloth or a well-wringed sponge to remove stains and do not pour the

product used for the cleaning directly onto Dinamica.

It is important to make a circular movement from the outside towards the inside to

avoid the stain expansion.

For specific treatment of different types of stains and the related materials to use,

please follow the indications below:

Although I’ve found a clean damp cloth with some warm water cleans up any marks we’ve had.
