By default the doors are locked from entry from outside.

They will just put the windows in if it's an emergencyThank you, that was my question. And I guess that our MG4 complies with those regulations. What made me thinking is the discussion of cars with handles which fold shut. Not a problem for us I guess.
Yes they will, the emergency services, quite rightly, have no regard for the vehicle when performing a roadside rescue. They will just put the windows in if it's an emergency
Carry a glass hammer/seatbelt cutter in your car, obviously no good if you get knocked outThe problem is, emergency services take time to arrive on scene.
First on scene (more than likely) is another motorist, who sees people trapped inside, and try to get the doors open, and out of respect, won't think of smashing someone else's car. Panic starts to kick in (pardon the pun)

How have you got the time to be on another forumAgree. Funnily enough, we are having this discussion on another forum. Which prompted me to order a Life Hammer. Not only to get yourself and others out of your own car, in the event of a crash. But also if your first on the scene of a crash, and someone is trapped. Almost certainly would never be needed. But you just never know.

I carry one of these but I wonder if it’s really needed. I say that because as a sort of joke ?? I jabbed my “pointed knuckle” fist at a car rear window once and it shattered into a million bits. It cost a few quid and some embarrassment but had there been a panic I could have extracted the occupants swiftly with tiny glass bits pervading every garment they were wearingAgree.
