How long "ish" from docks to dealer?

Probably a how long is a piece of string question but does anyone know how long generally it takes for the car to get from the docks to the dealer please?

I received this from Glyn Hopkins MK regarding my new car . "Your vehicle is currently undergoing quality checks at the docks, we will be hearing from the logistics company on Tuesday with an update".

My car arrived in dock on 23rd October and the dealer has no clue when it will arrive. Usually a couple of weeks they say but reading on here it might be being held to have some PDI work done before it reaches the dealer

I read on a now deleted post elsewhere so it's defiantly only hearsay that MG are fitting the new breather, adjusting the oil level and perhaps the undertry at the docks themselves so they don't have to pay the dealers to do it which us why the cars are slow coming out of the docks.

Mine arrived 7th October and dealer received on 25th October so 18 days.

That would explain a lot. As you say might only be gossip but makes sense why there are long delays in some cars getting to dealers.

Told last Monday 31 Oct,it would arrive at dealer today 7 Nov,told today it might be Fri 11Nov ????

Just had an email from my dealer - mine still hasn't arrived with them yet but they're getting deliveries every other day, so hopefully not long now.

I wonder how long it is then from dealer taking delivery to customer taking delivery.

When I first ordered they thought they'd be getting the car on 21-Oct (Friday) so we'd agreed a collection on 26-Oct (Wednesday). So that would give 2-3 working days for their processing and PDI.

No idea if that's typical - until now I haven't bought my own new car since 1991! (H reg Ford Escort)

So I got this yesterday....

" Spoke to the courier today he said we should see it this side of the weekend, I'm off tomorrow but if there's a delivery I'll call you Thursday to arrange everything and as for the oil check we'll check that during the PDI when the car arrives."

Whoop Whoop ! Fingers crossed it might get here sooner than I thought.

My car (ZS EV) arrived at Portbury dockside on a Monday and was at the dealer on the Thursday.

But the dealer didn't know it was on a transporter till it turned up.

I imagine it just depends when they can load a transporter full of cars on a sensible routing.
