How to unlock the software limiter for the maximum speed?

Sometimes I have the opportunity to push my Xpower up to their sky, 200km/h 124mph. So, when I'm rising quickly from 100 to 180 the feeling is awesome, but when the car achieve 190 suddenly show a leak of power and the last 10 points do very slowly, and when 200 , stop to accelerate like if a computer settings was blocking the maximum speed. Doesn't anyone curious about the way to surpass this limit? At their own risk of course!

My MG4 51 is speed limited to 160km/h, that's 50km/h above any legal road speed in Australia I believe (maybe NT still has the high speed limit on the open roads) and 50km/h over the sign posted speed limit is automative licence cancellation and a real risk of jail time if you have past history of speeding offences .... so I think I'll leave my road car standard

In Germany we often don't have speed limits on the Autobahn ;D - So everything legal

Accept for the vehicle warranty being voided If I actually get to recovering either of the MG4s I bought at the salvage auction, I'd like to fit a Zombie Inverter board and take it to local drag and track days and see how well an MG4 can really go ..... push that 125kw limit up to 200kw and a 250km/h speed limit .... or maybe find a salvage XPower and do both motors I reckon that would go viral and shut the EV haters down big time ...... The ultimate would be to attend the Drag and Drive events in the USA ..... that would be something special, taking out some of the big hitters with an EV road registered ......

Surely the speed flatlines because the motor hits it's maximum revolutions. This will feel like a cap because a motor can provide maximum torque at all of it's rev range unlike a petrol or diesel car which cannot.

They are actually speed limited by the factory, along with the power limiting ....

Artificial speed limited or maximum motor speed limited though? One is just a cap, the other is to protect the components, just like a rev limiter on an ICE car.

If the reduction gear is 9.73:1 and the motor is rated at a max of 18,000 rpm then it would suggest a top speed around 144mph with the 235/45/18 tyres. However, the motor and/or battery components aren't designed for a continuous load like this, so if the revs are limited to 15,500rpm then that would give a top speed of c.124mph.

The load on a 3 phase motor is not rpm but current, the latest model MG4 is limited across the range to the same 160km/h (99mph) my poverty pack MG4 51 late '24 plated, yet the same vehicle with an NMC battery and different wheels, has a higher power and speed rating .... it is set in the computer program from the factory

Given how "well" it brakes from 70mph I can't imagine wanting to be anywhere near 124mph in the real world, let alone higher!

To be fair, I'm more than happy with the 124 mph top speed. I'm never gonna see that anyway, let alone any more. It was the Warp speed acceleration I bought the
X Power for, not the top speed which is academic really.

Given how "well" it brakes from 70mph I can't imagine wanting to be anywhere near 124mph in the real world, let alone higher!

It does require quite a bit of pedal pressure to convince the system that you wish to slow faster than the regen can accomplish ..... I've driven a lot of vehicles with worse brakes, needing over the horizon radar to know just when the brakes should be applied if you wished to stop before vanishing under the stationary truck up ahead ..... first car I had was a Valiant slant 6, 4 wheel drum brakes, that slowed much faster it you held a wet hanky out the window

So, they go faster without indicators and side mirrors .... is that what makes a BMW faster

It's very likely that MG declutches front motor at those speeds, so it doesn't exceed the motors maximum RPM. Thus there's a feeling of power loss (since there's one less motor to work with).

It's highly unlikely to be able to raise the top speed. It's ultimetly limited by motor maximum RPM. Spinning it much higher than rated would likely rip the rotor to pieces.
