Hi,

Colder mornings are coming so I thought I’d have a try at preheating the car through the app but not sure I’m doing it correctly as it never seems warm when I open the door. I assume it’s the HVAC bit? I set that to 24 degrees and left it for ten mins and the car was still cold when I got in it. Any pointers please……

Have you the vents fully opened? Is there a noticeable difference if you get out to the car and manually run the heater for 10min?

I know that on my MG5 SE that remote HVAC does not work correctly. There is no or very little fan working. However, if you use the screen option instead the fan will be a lot stronger and will heat/cool the cabin. Additionally, if you leave the car with full fan blowing before shutting down and locking, when you next use the remote screen option the fan does blow full also. Hope this helps.?

I was wondering if it made a difference to the previous fan setting but wouldn’t think it should do as it should bring the car up to the set temperature within the ten minutes that it has before automatically switching itself off? I’ll have another play with it

The HVAC will turn off after 10min for safety reasons if activated via the app regardless if it reaches set temperature or not.

In some EVs, directing the air to “windscreen defrost” brings better results as fans are blowing at max speed, not sure if this applies to the MG5 also.

If I remotely set mine to say 23 deg... it's lovely and warm when I get in. Never had any issues seeing the temp, heating or cooling. Works a treat.
I suggest get the dealer to check yours out.

Just did a preheat via the app this morning; starting @11 deg interior temp it showed 17 deg after 10 min. Switching to ‘Front Window’ and after another 10min it was up to 23deg and felt cosy..

Bearing in mind that the ambient temperature was a mild 10deg, it may take a few more cycles during winter.

It also seems to keep the last HVAC setting as mentioned in #3..
