DONT BUY ONE, just burn your money and save yourself the headache!!

Change 100% of the car. its shit from top to bottom, nothing works well and everything seems like it was designed by morons who've never driven a car

I already did buy one and have loved it so far. Only issue I have really had has been with an accessory I bought, maybe I just got lucky with the one I got who knows.

Not sure why you are so against your mg4? What problems are you having? I haven't had anything big problems so wondering why you are so against it.

You will soon learn what im talking about. New cars always seem better than the old one they replaced but this car will soon bug the hell out of you and you will regret getting it. Especially if you regularly use motorways.

Lets see how many times you accidently turn your lights on or off when indicating left, because some idiot thought the indicator stalk would be a great place to put the switch for the lights!
You will also love how choppy the drive gets and how much the car bounces around on slightly uneven road surfaces!

How many times have the SAFETY features tried to kill you?? I've removed the safety sensor from my car to permanently disable everything because i was sick to death of the car AGGRESSIVELY turning and braking

because its the worst EV i have ever driven!

Range - shit
quality - shit
safety features - shit
ergonomics - shit
batteries - shit
motor - shit
sound deadening - shit
MG dealership - shit

today i got 70 miles from a full charge and my car crawled to work like it was pulling a building behind it because it was sub zero outside

I have honestly considered crashing this car so i can get rid of it. Thats how much i hate it and cant wait for it to be gone.

What version have you got.

I'm not it's biggest fan as the wife's has had numerous faults/niggles.
But her trophy drives well and has decent range.

70 miles from a 100% is a fault even 70mph constant on the SR gets more than that

I've had my car for 9 months and it's probably one of the best cars I've owned.

What's the problem on motorways, I find it quite relaxing and nice and quick for overtakes.

Not sure how you manage to turn the lights off while indicating, but I have to admit I have done it while putting the main beam on.

The safety systems have been OK, they LKA was sometimes a bit aggressive, but this is now much better since the software update.

Ive got a phase 1 SE. (22) plate
Its been back to MG several times for the poor range, low power in cold weather and a number of issues and they have done nothing and just blamed my driving style for all the problems. However i have access to other EV's, i drive them the same way and get much better range!
I got sick to death of paying £25 for a courtesy car each time it went back, so i gave up and just decided to live with all the problems to the end of the PCP deal.

I was on 86% battery last week and it was -4 outside and the car would only give a maximum of 65% power and when i hit 65mph it stopped accelerating.

I will never step foot through the doors of an MG dealer after this goes back and its put me off getting another EV.
im going back to petrol or diesel where i will get constant performance and range and i will never wait longer than 1 minute when refueling.

There was a fault with the very first SR cars limiting power, an old member bowfer was the first to post about it, similar to you he ended up anti MG and rejected his car and moved to a Born.
I wouldn't let one crap car put me off EVs, as you say you have access to others and they are fine

if i do 70 mph on the motorway i will get about 100- 140 miles, the only way i can get more range is by slowing to 50mph

The dial for lights is on the indicator stalk, sometimes when you turn left your finger hits the dial and either puts the lights on so they stay on when you leave the car or its turns them off completely.

Well my LKA has turned me in to oncoming traffic twice, even after 2 updates which apparently fixed it. I was not going to die because of a cheap nasty Chinese EV so i ripped out the safety sensor.
Problem solved, the car has never done anything unexpected ever since!

i wasnt able to reject mine because the cold weather hit more than 30 days after i bought it.

If you can afford £80000 on an EV it will be great, Like my brothers BMW i4 M50, but the low end cars are and always will be shit.

You only get very long range with HUGE batteries because most EV's average about 3.5m/kwh which is pathetic.

Sounds like you got a bad car, it can happen with any car and I wouldn't it put me off getting another EV. You wouldn't say you weren't going to get another petrol car just because you had a bad experience with one car.

For me the benefits outweigh any negatives, saving a fortune on fuel, very quick, smooth. As long as the realistic range is about 200 miles then that's fine, my bladder can't last that long.

Which sensor did you remove?

I probably got a lemon built on a Friday!,
If you got a petrol engine car when they first became mainstream and it was nothing but problems and never lived up to a single claim, im certain it would put most people off wanting another.

When you add up the fuel savings to the massive depreciation of your EV, you have not saved a penny!
A £30k MG4 will lose £20k in 2 years and you aren't spending that much on fuel.

Do you also really love sitting at a service station for up to an hour, spending extra money of shite food an coffee because thats something EV lovers always say, the long wait is nice, it breaks up the journey etc etc. but the reality is, a 5 hour journey in an EV will take 6-8 hours with changing!

Also have you ever been on a service station charging on a bank holiday when 30 people are all trying to charge at the same time?? if so you will know that you will struggle to get 20kW of power and the charge time raises to several hours.

are you also interested in deactivating these features because of how terrible they are?

Removing the sensor built in to the front bumper or covering the camera with tape will turn them all off permanently
Not really, just wondered, it all works pretty well on mine.

Bowfer,s old car must still be knocking about........ somewhere? Could it be ????

My car was £18k, got £14.5k trade in for my old car, so it only cost me £3,500. I've already saved about £600 in fuel and probably about £100 in servicing, so not too bad so far.

My partner went to London recently, charged once on the way down and once on the way back, each charge was about 25 minutes, not too bad in freezing weather. First time she had charged the car away from home and she said it was easy.

Removing the front "sensor " would mean removing the bumper, not impossible but not easy , then when your lease is up , you have to put it back or suffer excess charges. The tape on the windscreen has been discussed before , but the camera is covered by the sweep of the wipers , so either won't last long, smear the windscreen or damage the wipers. Turning the camera off either each journey or permanently via the infotainment screen has the same results and is easily reversible.
Out of interest which petrol car would you go back to?
