I'm collecting my new S5 Trophy in grey on Saturday so I'm coming across from the MG4 forum to this one.

My local dealer offered me £14,000 for my MG4 in part-ex against a zero miles pre-registered S5 up at £23,999.

I've now just got to sort out the insurance as my current insurer doesn't insure the S5 at the moment.

Its a good switch up for the space and extra plushness of the car overall. I got a great deal end of june, on a silver one.
Only difference is the voluntary termination I did for my old mg4 (was a shame as it was a wonderful car).
Somebody has just got a very good car, in A1 condition from cargiant in london. As it sold for 12999 (72 plate with 25k). YA72 KGZ.

Great car with many improvements over the MG4 and in the UK at least parity on new price, give or take. Not so here, full list price , no deals to be had, or if there is , not advertised. 38500 euros for the Trophy spec and not that many to be had ( only a few in stock ) my dealer only has one and that's a test car.
Given that MG intend to update the MG4 before the new version arrives they are really going to have to up their game to get some sales or drop the price somewhat , otherwise what would be the advantage of the 4 over the 5.?
Given the above I will stay on the MG4 s ever dwindling forum hoping its revival may return to its glory days of the past with a brand new 4 of such magnitude and price that everyone will swap back!

After spending an hour yesterday evening communicating, and I use the word loosely, with the chat bot on the insurance website I gave up but I did get the customer service phone number out of it.

Managed to get through to a human this morning and after a bit of scratching of heads we realised the MGS5 is classed as a hatchback on their system and not a SUV. For £30 including the admin charge my current provider has now updated my insurance and insured my new car.

And before anyone says anything. The car was only assigned a registration number yesterday so I couldn't use it to identify the car as it can take a few days to appear on the databases.
