Ah, the old location, location location factor.

I'm hopefully moving out of London in the next few months. An SP30 will also expire (rushing for an antenatal appointment from another clinic! Average speedcams....) Will get a new quote then. Bite the bullet for now.

Im picking my im6 launch up monday done a insurance quote 10 days ago £1041 done it today £1448 Hastings direct cheapest i could get £400 rise within 10 days shocking. Insurance have got you by the bollocks

Unfortunately the closer to delivery date the worse it is. I was quite lucky knowing my delivery date 20 days in advance. Helped a lot with a normal price.
I am with Hastings too and I paid 1k for the IM6, wife's BYD atto3 and the house. Transferred everything from admiral who refused and still does to insure the IM.

I wonder if getting temporary insurance while you get a permanent quote is an option, to avoid the insurance companies penalising the last minute arrangement?

Usually temp ones are even worse.
I added 1k miles for business purposes on my insurance and the additional cost was £15 for the year.
A colleague of mine did a temporary one for a day. £40!! For an old Renault scenic.

I had a test drive of the launch edition today and really liked the car. Before putting in an order I thought I had better see what the insurance is like, I could only find one really expensive quote from comparison sites, that was from Tesco. My own insurer (Admiral) told be that they can't cover the vehicle. Maybe it is just too new. Has anybody else managed to get a quote in the UK?

The test drive was certainly interesting, after some sketchy reviews I was concerned about the ride and the small back window. I found the ride fine, it is a big heavy and you can certainly feel that. The back window is small but you can still see out, not a massive issue. The acceleration is certainly rapid and power delivery is smooth.

I got my IM6 Launch early December and got it with People’s Choice. If I remember correctly the insurance companies cover this model but think you have to search under MG international not just MG. You’re local dealer should be able to advise you
