Info Screen goes black

Hi All,

Trust weekend is going well and everyone loves their MG!!!!!

Dear all, do any one have issues with the Info screen, can be driving along and the screen goes black, cant change the radio, nothing, after a few minutes it then comes back, car has been in to the dealer, they have updated the software, but it still happens - anyone else have the same issues?

so how do you get it back on and after how long? Mine is occasionally dark on startup but comes back if I restart the car or press home button.

Just a reminder.

If you do this.....While driving the car and any of the automation features enabled, the car will completely FREAK out

Tried this with our previous ZS EV, because the satnav froze (Not the dead reckoning error) so decided that i would just reboot the infotainment.

I think....More or less every single error message the car can display was on the "behind the steering wheel" screen.

Car worked fine, but all of the automations, like cruise control, lane assist, Automatic emergency braking and whatnot had errors popping up.

The messages all went away, when the infotainment had rebooted, and the satnav started working, but be aware, that doing it while driving will make the car panic pretty bad (All the error codes and lots of extra bong sounds)

This happens how often? every day you drive it or once a week? Take it back to the garage, could be something as simple as a lose wire somewhere ... but start with "my screen is not working, can you please replace it"

well have taken it to main dealers, and they have downloaded an update, but still happens, the only issue is our main dealer has a 6 week wait before getting it booked in

Mine has just started doing this after 18months and I notice the lighting symbol on the small screen disappears as well so it could be related to dimming system when auto lights activate (under trees etc)

what happens on yours? I can't figure out what is the lightning symbol on the small screen? is that on Mk1 ZS?

Sorry, this refers to MG4 EV. At the time the main info screen goes blank the ‘auto lights on’ symbols disappear from the top of smaller drivers screen

ah, I see. It's more likely that the auto-lights turn off because the main screen goes off, think of it as a laptop controlling most car functions so when that goes off, other functions (air-con, music, etc) also turn off ... might be some lose wires at the back. Try to book it in under warranty repairs. If one dealer refuses, go to another

Normal reboot.keeps the system working at optimal performance, just let it reboot itself usually takes about thirty seconds.
