I've had a red SE long range for about 3 weeks and it has been great so far except the infotainment screen.
On occasions it seems to take a couple of miles driving before the screen comes alive. It doesn't happen every time and there doesn't seem to be an obvious pattern.
Today it was fine on the 7 mile outwards drive but when I got in and drove back the screen stayed black all the way. Everything else seems fine but its obvously annoying not being able to rely on a sceen that doesn't alway light up straight away.
Anybody else have this problem and found a solution?

The solution is to book it in with your dealer ASAP as this is not normal behaviour.

Yes, it’s worth getting the dealer to look at it. In the interim, try resetting the system.

Thanks for the advice so far. Actually tried again and it very dimly send to be struggling to be visible (it could be seen but was dim despite being on max brightness).
Probably should have said it only effects the big screen not the small one behind the steering wheel which thankless is working fine.
I've tried holding the home button down to get the screen to reboot but the screen stayed black after that.
Just rang the dealer I got it from and the earliest I can book it in for is February the 8th, which sounds a long time to wait.

I sometimes have an issue with the Android Auto screen coming up, but the car's infotainment screen has always worked.

That’s a ridiculous length of time to have to wait. Completely unacceptable. They should complete a while you wait check at the very least to see if there’s anything they can do, and if needed order parts. Sooooo irritating.

Really good point about the fog lights which I hadn't thought about.
I can turn on the HVAC system with the physical buttons to demist and heat up the cabin, but obviously can't alter the temp etc from the one I put in before it went black.

Well, you can (if you have the right Star button set for AC) ... press it and move the toggle up or down for temp; left/right for fan speed. However you can't see if the changes are taking effect.

Good point.
Sadly given the situation the right star button isn't set up for AC and I think I can only set it up to work on that button using the infotainment screen.

I rang the dealer regarding the fog lights. After a wait as they tried to look for an alternative method of turning on the fog lights without the screen they came back without an answer except to say they would ring back tomorrow after contacting their MG service specialist.

Yes

Yes, you have a faulty unit - the screen and/or the elec gubbins behind it. I had a first gen ZS and the screen fussed and stuttered one day, before winking out and dying entirely > repplaced under warranty. Go for it.

Thanks for the advice. It's booked in for the 10th now. Hope it doesn't take long for the parts.
