Infotainment system factory reset

Silly question probably, but does a infotainment factory reset remove previously installed updates to it or anything else? I am having trouble getting the spacebar to work, when I touch it I get language options just like the "world" button/icon.

No - all it does is reset/reload the Infotainment software that was last installed. It's basically the same as rebooting your phone/tablet/PC.
