Infotainment UI Patch MOD

Because some (not all!) rather “curious” people hang around in the German MG4 forum who don’t want to contribute anything useful to my post, I’m hoping to find like-minded people here who are interested and would like to get involved.

I’ve started my first project to glow up the rather boring default UI menu of the MG4. Conveniently, MG uses system software for the SE model that actually covers multiple models, including the newer MG HS (MY2024). The infotainment menu on the HS looks much more modern than the one on the MG4 and also offers some practical features.

Accordingly, I’m trying to patch the complete MG HS UI here, starting with the launcher. The launcher itself is already patched and I’m only adding a few modifications to further optimize the UI. What’s still missing is the side navigation bar and the top task bar. These are separate apps that still need to be patched by me.

At the moment, installation only works via the internal Android access. You can find information about that here: Github

In the future, I want to integrate the APKs directly into the system image so that the new infotainment menu can be installed directly via the engineering menu as a USB update.

Good work

Unfortunately not something I can help with, I've only ever looked at decompiled android apps, never modified them
suppose it's lucky they aren't obfuscated, when I was in a DJI group people were modifying apps with obfuscation which made things tricky (beyond me)

Out of curiosity have you compared the swi132 to the swi69? Or any other models?

Thanks! Yes, I’ve looked at all the SWI update versions from MG4, MG5 and ZS EV, hoping that, for example, the MG4 SE MY24 model might include newer infotainment versions from the MG S5 or Urban, but unfortunately that’s not the case. The different platforms like the MG HS also only seem to exist in the SE variant.

What exactly would you like to know?
