What are people's thoughts on the interior temperature sensor?
I have the MGS5 trophy LR in the UK, and I think my interior temperature sensor might be faulty.
It changes on almost every refresh on the app.
It usually says whatever the climate was set to.
My car will show 21°C at 6:30am when it's been 10°C or less all night.

It's 11pm now, and outside temperature is 10°C (feels like 7°C), but my car is showing 20°C.
Sometimes it lowers after a few refreshes but then jumps back to 20-something.

It also feels like the car never actually makes it up to the temperature I set by the end of my 30 minute commute.

My interior temperature sensor behaves exactly the same — it seems to show random values on almost every refresh in the app.

For example, during the coldest part of winter when the car had been sitting outside all day in -17°C, the first scan in the app showed the interior temperature as 16°C, the second showed 10°C, and the third showed 22°C. So clearly it wasn’t reflecting the actual cabin temperature.

I contacted iSmart customer service about it. At first they said everything looked normal, but after I sent them screenshots, they recommended having the sensor checked by a local dealer.

I haven’t bothered to take it any further yet, but I might mention it at the next service.

I've just checked, and 8c outside, internal temperature showing 22c.
I refreshed the vehicle status about 8 times in a row and it updated down every time, eventually reaching 13c.
I refreshed the main page on the app and it went back to 22c, vehicle status also updated to 22c.

Very strange behaviour.

It isn't neccesary that it is the sensor. It could also be a fault in the software translating server data on your display.

The fact that it shows high temperatures when it is really cold is a known stupidity of the app. It loads all old data first before it finally gets to the most recent.

I've just tested it, heating the car using the app.
It starts at 22c, and whilst the climate control is running the interior temperature eventually drops to what the real temperature is (+/-2c of a separate temperature sensor I placed in the car).
Once the climate control stops (around 12c after the first run at the current temperature outside), the temperature shows 21/22c again.
Starting climate control again, it does the same. Eventually settles to the real emperature, but goes back to 21/22c once climate control switches off.
