Is ismart always this useless

Mine is showing as last updated 23 April, despite trying to l refresh the app multiple times today.

Is anyone else encountering issues?

Remember both your own phones mobile signal AND the cars own mobile signal must be good for the app to work really well each time. In my home my phone signal is fine. Outside behind my home on my drive where I park the car, the signal for the car is pretty poor. This affects how & if the app works. Everywhere else with good mobile signal for both car & phone the app works perfectly. It's pretty useful too!

It had been working fine and there's been no change to where I park the car so it seemed strange that it's not working now.

Does it work elsewhere away from your home? Additionally, phone signals can be disrupted by other powerful radio signals such as taxi firms nearby when they broadcast, police & other emergency service broadcasts when they are close by. I've known folks living near airports to lose mobile signals periodically due to all the em activity. It just depends where you might be at the time you want to use the app. But if you have persistent problems it might be worth uninstalling your app then re-installing. Also a chat to your dealer or MG support might be useful.

Yes, I agree. I wonder if something has changed after an update to your phone apps or actual phone software. Sometimes updates change settings. Check to make sure your phone security settings or permissions haven't changed. Check that your phone is allowing the ismart app to connect in the permissions section.

MIne will usually refresh after a few attempts and worked last night to check the car was charging.

I've taken it for a drive and getting this message:

The exclamation Mark is your Lane Keep Assist or Traffic Jam Assist. They don't function at start up untill you get going, if I remember correctly.
It was on for the whole drive.

I'm not best pleased considering I bought the car only 2 weeks ago.

Yep, take your car to the dealer. They'll sort it no problem. You have a new car gremlin! Probably just needs the 12v battery disconnecting to reset the instruments & pretty much everything else. Or your 12v battery isn't charged enough. That causes multiple errors to occur. Don't do it yourself!

I spoke to the dealer and it's a 3 week wait until the car can be seen. The panel shows the battery at 12.1V so should I just disconnect and reconnect the battery. Is there any risk there?

Edit:

Disconnected the battery and waited 5 mins before reconnecting and the esim issue remains. According to the panel the 12v battery is on 14.3v so it doesn't seem to be that. Hopefully the dealer can just reset the esim but it's such an inconvenience.

If you are in London, why not call 2-3 other MG dealers and see if you can get it checked sooner?

I have very little trouble with iSmart, and use it quite a lot. There are occasions when it appears that the servers are overloaded, but it's never for very long in my experience.

I use iSmart to remote heat the car on frosty mornings, cool it in the Summer when we're packing up to leave the beach. I set timed charging with it, or override timed charging when I've plugged in away from home and forgotten it was set.

It's by no means perfect, I think the programming must have been done by work experience College students in China, but for me, it's still useful!
When you set the timer for remote heat, do you set it to when you plan to leave or one hour early?

I don't set the timer for remote heating or cooling of the interior, I'm not sure as you can. I just set it to start heating or cooling 10 minutes before I leave.

I've never used the battery heating function, I think that's more for use in cold countries.
