Is it possible to upgrade MG ZS EV normal to MG ZS EV internet electric car?

I have heard that to use the voice command you need to connect your phone to Android Auto.

Someone in a Dutch forum mentioned that the MG motors Country manager Benelux has declared that app support will come at the end of the year. The car would be Connected after installation of a Connectbox. No idea where he got that from though.

@buzzbuzz Which Dutch (MG ZS EV?) forum? I'm glad to assist since I'm Dutch and I think internetconnection and a good app would be a serious plus to our cars (well an app would if it's without the current bugs... see Bjorn Nylands youtube channel: 10 things I hate about MG ZS EV).
But I didn't hear that answer last month, when I specifically asked about that buying my ZS EV.
Could be the seller didn't know that yet.
Like you said, it needs a connectbox/4g/GSM. But MG also needs admission from the EU to be alowed to use this. With the privacyrules at hand I guess that won't happen very soon. Maybe in UK after 01/31/2021?
Let's presume it isn't coming, at least not for free and not very soon. There is another way though:
Open Vehicle Monitoring System (OVMS)
Only thing is: there isn't a ZS EV configuration. So I gues it would help if as much ZS EV owners as possible would ask if they could make that first. [email protected]

Ah right, I see. I hope that is a real announcement. But if it is, I don't think it will be for free.

Hi. I got a reply from Open Energy about the ZS EV configuration for their OVMS. Since it's a open source community it's also up to developers and volenteers to deliver the needed input so they can reverse engeneer the CAN bus of the ZS EV.
They are looking for anyone who has access to the more technical side of our car.
Best would be a mechanic off sorts who can read out the car's computer CAN bus.
There's a forum about the ZSEV on the OVMS website.

The main developer has just picked up an MG ZS of his own this week, previously he was having to borrow a vehicle to work on. Hopefully he will now be able to make some progress. He's been documenting the work he's done so far here: Morris - Reverse Engineering MG
The reverse engineering work is complex and time-consuming, the spreadsheet documents what we know so far: MGZS EV CAN Hack Master
At this point in time there is not really anything that can be done to help unless you know people with CAN bus decoding experience or insider MG information. Workshop manuals and technical data on the car would be very useful. Part of the reason why it's taking so long is that unlike most manufactures very little is known or documented about SAIC and how their CAN sub-systems work.

So, if anyone of us here is or knows a mechanic or a specialist regarding knowledge or acces to workshop manual of the CAN bus of our car: PLEASE step forward...

In Thailand you have the option of i-Smart which is both voice and app control for the MG range. https://www.mgcars.com/en/innovation/i-smart MG UK won't say if it's coming when I asked a few months ago. Also see
