Is it safe to open passenger side panel?

i'm installing ambient lights, so i need to open this panel, it says airbag, don't wont to mess up something.. do i need to turn it off first?

Hi, yes, it's pretty safe. Personally, I’ve opened the panel many times to install a dashcam. In my experience, I noticed that you can skip step 5 as it’s quite unnecessary because there’s plenty of cable near the bonnet release to move.
