Is this a serious problem?

I'm wondering whether to buy an MG hybrid +. You say it gets high revs going uphill, I have a Mercedes V class diesel and I have the same problem but I switch to the manual option and it downshifts itself.
I know it's a new model but can you advise whether to buy or not. It will be my wife's ride and mostly just around town.

My 1st post. Had our ZSTrophy since January and thankfully have not experienced any of the 'over revving' issues that others have which at times seems downright dangerous.

It seems to be hit and miss whether any new car will have this problem or not.

As this is my wife's car it is mainly used on shorter journeys although we have had the odd trip to Wales and Yorkshire over the Pennines without any problems.

It's a great town car averaging over 56mpg.
