Reposted to this specific forum, on someone's advice. As they suggested the issues with the app are often vehicle specific.....

I have android iSmart 3.0.4 installed. That looks to be the latest.
MG ZS (last/latest build model).

My problem is:
The main screen works fine, can adjust cabin heat, lock/unlock etc fine. The status page works fine, so see the tyre pressures etc.
If I try going to the charge management screen (linked on the main screen) this will almost always time out. I have occasionally (only 4-5times in the last year!) been able to get this page up, and do things like adjust the charge profile. But this is very rare. And from memory, seems to be only when the car is actively charging.

So I am usually unable to easily do things such as change the profile or view rate of charge remotely.

Anyone seen similar? Any work arounds? Updates to car firmware or phone app?

Mine did that the t box failed 5 months ago and it is now on its 6th visit to the dealer to fix it and other faults. It has been at dealer for 4 weeks with no luck. I would get the dealer to take a look

What's a T box?

All the controls in the car are fine and the car functions 100%. It is the remote control under the phone app that is a bit flaky.

The local dealer want a £180 diagnostic fee, for things not covered under warrantee. So I'm keen to be sure that it is a definite fault before going to them.

My iSmart app is the same. It's very common. Nothing to worry about. My car has had a complete software upgrade & it didn't fix the issue. If you pay the garage diagnostic fee you won't get it back. They won't find anything wrong. It's just not a very good app in that respect. Every other part of the app works beautifully so I don't fret over it. You don't need it. The Octopus app & my walbox charger app are far superior. So if you have a wall box charger or you are with Octopus Energy or any supplier with a good app, use that instead to program your car charging. Most of my MG friends also have this issue with the iSmart app. Just to ask, do you have your car & phone in an area of good cell phone signal? If not that will be the problem, maybe!

I suspected so. The app is probably something that MG leave to the work-experience 17yo to manage.
My home charger is DIY, so I have full control over that. It's mostly when I'm using the public charge network that it would be useful.
From the main (working) page of the app I can see that the charge/range is increasing by repeatedly refreshing. Which is cludgy, but works. It would be nice to see the charge rate on the Charge Management page.
And to be able to set the car to 100% charge when I remember it in bed, the night before a long trip!
