Not had my HS PHEV long and normally charge at home using a granny charger, however yesterday I took it to a BP Pulse public charger just to try it out. I use Zapmap for payment and it seemed to connect the charger to the car ok, and showed active charging at 2.6kW however the MG iSMART app and the driver info screen in the car reported no charging at all. Probably being a complete numpty but do I need to enable the charging via MG iSMART or some other means? BTW, I didn’t get billed by ZapMap so clearly something not right here!
TIA

It is hard to know if is the car, charger or (less likely) the cable.

AC charging is a little different to DC charging, in that locking and unlocking the car can turn it off.

You have to do any locking and unlocking in the right order, otherwise the car will assume 'unlocked door so we must be finished charging' and then end the session.

With DC charging you can lock and unlock the car as much as you like, I believe.

Thanks Bam Bam, so lock the car, start charging and walk away? Will give it a go, cheers

I think it could be a case of...open the flap, plug in, start the charge, then lock the car and walk away.

You could probably swap two of those around and lock the car before starting the charge on the machine as you mention.

When you unlock the car, however, I expect it will stop the charge.

I managed to do an AC charge in ours where I just left the car unlocked throughout and sat in it, so that worked for me (in an MG4) at least.
