I've Succumbed!

Just picked up my S5 it only had a standard cable in a bag. No granny charger, I was told MG no longer supply them.

Yep, that's probably the case now. Still think if you asked for one. You stand a good chance of getting one. Especially to seal a deal. 🙂👍

When the MG4 was released some found that some had the under bonnet soundproofing pad and some didn't. An Australian review showed this to be missing on the S5 he was testing . Have any early adopters noticed ( I,m sure you have ) whether you have it , ( or don't )?

I'll tell you tomorrow 😀 easily added i guess.

Stuart posted this thread earlier. Is the ES5 the Marvel R replacement?

No, the ES5 is what they call the MGS5 in China.

The IM LS6 (also known as the MG IM6 in Australia) is the replacement for the Marvel R.

Picked mine up today. No, there's no matting attached to the underside of the bonnet, but that's really not an issue! Maybe leaves an extra few mm for the home-made frunks that will no-doubt be coming.
Mine hasn't got any padding either. I'm pretty certain it doesn't need any, this car is rear wheel drive, and therefore there are no motors under the bonnet (to make some noise) in fact there is very little under there at all. I thought my face-lift MG5 was quiet but this S5 is deathly quite only had it two days but we'll impressed so far.

I think it's going to be possible to store the charging cable in there by cable-tying the storage bag to the long black bar that goes across the rear of the compartment, just to make sure it can't slide sideways and down in to the equipment below. I rarely use mine so the inconvenience of having to unzip the bag vs keeping it elsewhere in the car is worth it.

Has anyone noticed that the rear lights are smileys :-) anyway the wife has christened the car Smiley 😆

I've just remembered the my "4" didn't have any underbonnet padding when I took delivery despite the car in the showroom having it . Was soon fitted under warranty. I just thought it was nice to have as it muffles the sound from the noisy a/c a bit

Hi all
I am back in an MG after a long break away from the marque (last one was a ZS180...)! I did have an order in for the facelift ZS, but there were so many delays I cancelled in the end.
Picked up our S5 Trophy in grey yesterday evening and pleased with it so far, got it for 24k so pretty happy with that.

I find the infotainment is not very intuitive and try as a might I cannot get the overspeed alerts to stop. Most of the other settings I have my head around now.

I do have a couple of questions:

1. Am I right in thinking that if you use Carplay you cannot use the bluetooth reliant digital key? I had no problems activating it, but it doesn't connect when the BT is used for Carplay?

2. I have Thule wingbar evo roof Bars to fit, but cannot find any information as to where on the rails they should go, and correct spacing between them.
... any advice appreciated.

I had the same issue with the overspeed warnings to stop, they are in the built in stock navigation app, I can't remember where exactly, but it didn't take me long to find the setting to turn off in the settings in navigation
