Larger size 60AH 12v battery for MG4?

I don't want to go lithium but I'm looking to use a EFB battery type to replace the cheap and nasty SAIC OEM part (3yrs old).

I would like to fit an Exide EL600 but it is 242mm long (original is around 207 or 220 mm long and although the battery tray looks long enough, the clamp fixings are fixed for the smaller size battery. Has anyone fitted the larger size? The Tayna battery selection tool seems to think it will fit?

No I dont think this will fit - you need an 012 type - best bet is to have a look in day light and measure the old one / battery tray for appropriate options before ordering. BTW I always use Tayna, as they are a great company to deal with especially in the event of a warranty claim.
