Is there a launch mode on the old girl?
I'd love a foot to floor wheel spin in the dry. I'm nuts I know, but just a bit of fun factor.

Do any other models have launch control other than the x-power? Reason I ask is because I didn't know if mine had it or not. Watched a video showing the sequence for the x-power: left foot on brake, right foot on accelerator: press brake hard, floor the accelerator. Power builds up to about 60%...

Can you not turn traction control off and nail it from the lights to give the tyres a warming?

I tried launch mode with traction control off, though it didn't break traction (SE SR)

Isn’t the whole point of launch control to maximise acceleration by controlling the launch? Therefore launch control will by definition use traction control at launch.
