Hi all. Newbi here.
Collected new 2025 HS Trophy Phev in December 25. Set up charging with octopus intelligent go with Hypervolt Home pro3 charger. Everything connecting and car charging. No scheduled charge set up in ismart mg app.
When the scheduled charge (octopus sets the schedule) starts, the headlights and tail lights come on for approx 20 seconds then go off. This happens every time a charge starts within the schedule.
I have spoken to my dealer who advised , has never come across this. Hypervolt has checked charger and all looks good.
Anyone experiencing this weird event?
I have recently started using a Scottish power setup with a Easee charger and have twice now setup for night charging and my security cameras show that the lights come on every 4 minutes for 30 seconds! And we have a neighbour facing us at the end of our cul-de-sac……Great.

There are covers available designed for the front end of cars, but that's a bit of a faff and shouldn't be necessary really ...

This seems as per design to indicate that the charging started successfully, as MG cars do not have a battery level inidicator light on the dashboard like Kia's do to show that the car is charging from the outside.
Sad thing being it cannot be turned off but as I have an underground garage, it is pretty handy.

My neighbour at the bottom of the drive told me today that his bedroom was lit up at 4am this morning.

I apologised and said I’d take a look. I'd already turned OFF the Follow Me Home and the Welcome options. I’m on Octopus Intelligent Go, but I don’t charge at home very often as charge at work.

But from the look of things, if I do need to charge, it seems there’s not much choice other than lighting up his bedroom.
I'm worried about this. I have Octopus Intelligent Go, and I'm strongly considering the HS PHEV. The neighbours in the block of flats opposite will go ape if my car lights up their bedrooms during the night. Due to the limited length of the charging cable, I will have to park the car facing out onto the road.
It's strange that the MG4 that I currently own does not do this while being charged on Octopus Intelligent Go.

Can anyone recommend magnetic headlight blackout covers to solve this issue?
