... my current supplier (geddit :ROFLMAO:) is charging me 32.04p per kWh and no-one is taking switchers at the moment to EV Tariffs.

Have you actually spoken to Octopus? I had heard that despite their message, a few people with EVs had switched?
I know they are the 'de facto' cheapest but their green credentials are way down the list of suppliers and that means a lot to me. I didn't buy an EV to fuel it from 'dirty electrons'.

On the Octopus Go sign up page, it says:

With global energy prices at record highs, you're unlikely to be better off by switching at this time.

If you think that's incorrect and would like a personalised quote, please call and speak to one of our experts on 08081693274 with your current energy prices to hand. Our lines are open 9am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am - 4pm on Friday.

What car is your EV? If you look at the Miles/KW, then divided that into the £0.32, and that will give your your fuel cost per mile. Should still be reasonably competitive with ICE, AND you are not polluting the streets...:-)

It's MG5 LR (y). Love it already after only 1 week. Agree yes, still less than the price of diesel, provided price of electrons doesn't go up too much more, but only not polluting at point of use. I'm still polluting (somewhere) if the energy I use to charge is generated from fossil fuels, which most of the energy in the UK still is, unfortunately.

My supplier went bust just before I took delivery of my MG5 and we have been switched to Shell and their standard tariff at a flare rate of 20.4 pence per unit. 32p sounds steep if they are all charging the maximum allowed under the price cap?

32.04 per KWh for domestic electricity all day and night? Wow, God help us all when the cap changes. It will be soon cheaper to go to Starbucks than boiling the kettle.

Yep, just spoke to them, their advice, "do not switch at the moment" ...
If you are out of contract and are being put on a high standard rate of 32p /kw with a new company that you have been dropped onto, what reasons did Octopus give you for not taking you on as a new customer ??.
Their "Go" tariff was around 25p / kw day rate and about 5p / kw off peak, between midnight and five AM in the morning.

No, not out of contract, my supplier just put their prices up by 10p to 32p. I do want a green supplier, but 32p is taking the piss. Octopus quoted me 36p standard rate tariff until a SMART meter is fitted, which could be 4-8 weeks, then I could go on their Go Tariff, but as previously stated their green credentials aren't all that.

Yep, cap changing again in April (could be up, could be down, more likely up). Warnings of another 30% rise in 2022, on top of 250% since this time last year.

1 gallon diesel costs me £6.75 and gives me 50-odd miles or so.
Equivalent in electrons costs me £3.84 if I charge at home, so yes still cheaper, but yeah, I need to find a better tariff (that is still green!) ?

Arhhhh ..... Thanks for clarify those points !.
I have recently come out of my EV friendly tariff with EDF.
They have now placed me on NEW one year deal that is WAY more expensive than the previous fixed rate tariff I was on previously.
I already have a SMES 2 smart meter installed and was thinking about switching over to Octopus.
Contacted EDF twice now and requested a call back from their dedicated EV Tariff Team.
None of these two requests have been honoured.
My on-line account with EDF will NOT offer me any alternative tariff options either.

I have never been keen on smart meters. Not keen on anything that is connected to my house but broadcasting. Anyway when I went EV it was a basically no choice if you want low tariff.

Yeah - Same here !.
No smart meter - No EV tariff basically.

Get your current supplier to fit smart meters now and then you can swap once that process is underway.
My switch took place two days after my meters were changed
HHa

Ha, yes, still waiting for current supplier, Ecotricity by the way, one to avoid at all costs, to get back to me, emailed, no reply, called them, 1hr waiting on hold, no reply, message them on Facebook, no reply ... Not holding my breath.
