Been running without issue until earlier today.... Started the car, and it gave a whole load of errors (you could play bingo!). Can still drive it (if one dares!).

Looking around, others have said this could be down to the 12v battery. I had AA out, and they found no engine faults, but they couldn't check anything else and suggested MG. I asked about the 12v battery, and the guy said the car wouldn't even start if it was that.

Anyone have any thoughts? Is this just down to the weather, or likely to need some expense? (didn't do the service in last 12 months it seems).

Thanks

My guess is the Cold snap. I know mine's a different model (X Power) but the last couple of days, it's been saying low tyre pressure. The tyres are fine, and goes off after a while. And also the other day the EP light was flashing, which is either Electronic parking or Electronic Power steering, but both where fine. I just ignored them. The car is driving, perfectly. 🙂👍

Thanks. Yeah, had the low pressure one before in the cold, but never all these. The features were certainly disabled (auto-hold being the obvious one I tested). Still the same this morning - though it has got colder, so that could still be the case!

I was hoping we'd have similar posts here since the weather got cold, but not seeing that.

You will find a lot of the ADAS systems will throw up warnings if the cameras are iced over or fogged with condensation.

The warning about low tyre pressure is actually really valid.

This happens because cold air takes up less space so the reason it complains is, the air in the tyres "shrunk". The reason it goes away is because when driving the "rolling resistance" warms up the tyres.

I had this the other morning with my Tesla, it said all 4 winter tyres, fitted a month ago were measuring 2.6/2.7 and they recommend 2.9

I aired them up to 2.9 so now they go between 2.8-3.0 cold vs warm.

If the car complains about low tyre pressure you should really "top them up" a bit.

Usually the recommended tyre pressure is with "cold tyres so if you want to do the right thing you pump them up to the recommended pressure when cold.

Yep, no doubt. You are technically correct. But I was out and about, and it was bloody freezing. 🥶 I did get out of the car and check them visually and the tried and tested kick the tyre test 😉 they seemed ok, so off i went. And there were no problems, did it again next day, ignored it again. It's warmed up a bit now, and it's not come on again. But I will check them properly. I put 40 psi in my X Power, though it recommends 38 psi. 🙂👍

Great

I also drove mine on the tyres with the 2.6 in for a day, i was away from home, the temperature was -10C and for some reason all of the petrol station tyre inflation machines were out of comission (Most likely because no one ever drains the water that accumulate in such devices over time, because no one knows about it / can be arsed to do it for the salary they get and the water freezes, blocking the hoses and whatnot :) )

The errors have now disappeared, so this was almost certainly because of the freezing weather we had over the last couple of days.

Thank god for that - Didn't really want to fork out for repairs/service for a car i'll only have for a few more months!
