Lowering springs

Hello all,
I'm considering getting the bilstein shocks and lowered springs from vehicle handling solutions. Has anyone else lowered their zs ev trophy long range? Does it now ride better?

The MK2 facelift model such as the one you have has uprated suspension & brakes over the MK1 model. However, I've never heard of anyone ever carrying out the mods you are considering. It would be an interesting mod to see. How much lowering are you considering doing. Remember, lowering the car places extra stresses on the drive shaft joints ie: the CV joints & universal joints.

I was basically wondering if anyone had any problems with the zs being lowered. I had a Peugeot a few years ago that I lowered by 25mm and it chewed through suspension components after. Based on that I was fearing that the zs may do the same. I would rather keep it at the standard height and fit the bilstein shock absorbers. Only trouble is at the moment I can't seem to find the standard front springs. Chatgpt says mg only sell the springs as part of a full shock assembly for the front. Surely there must be a spring for the front that fits somewhere?

Depends what you mean by ride, any better. Obviously won't ride any more comfortable. Coz there obviously shorter stiffer springs. But then again not any noticeably worse. In theory should handle, slightly better coz of the Lower centre of gravity. It's only being lowered 25mm, so not much to worry about. And it'll definitely look better.

Personally I've never seen any lowered cars that have NOT chewed through drive shafts & other suspension components when the vehicle is in normal use. I've lowered several for various customers but this alters quite a lots of things geometrically speaking. That's fine as long as you are prepared for it.

Totally the opposite for me. Had loads of lowered cars. And never had any problems. If you lower them sensibly, then you'll be ok. No more than say 30 mm.
