MG app not opening

Hi having issues with mg app. It won't open fully when I click on it. Flashes open for a second then closes, tried clearing cookies, restarted phone & app but no joy. Any advice please.

Uninstall the app and reinstall? Check the permissions on your phone

I’ve already tried the following steps:

• Uninstalled and reinstalled the app
• Cleared cache and data
• Restarted the phone

The app crashes immediately after login.
If I’m already logged in, it crashes on launch.

I think it might not be the MG app at fault. I had similar problem, but it was other apps conflicting with it. Try updating all other apps on your phone. Remember to restart.

All the apps on the phone are up to date, but MG iSmart keeps crashing

I have the Google Pixel Pro 9 XL and the app works on mine, if it fails, which it does occasionally I just clear the cache and storage, it works again then, I did contact the developers and they said they will be issuing an update, still waiting for that.

The iSmart app seems to have issues with Google Pixel phones, particularly with binding. See for example the below thread, and the one linked at the top. Yet many users report no problems.

I'm having a problem with my Pixel 8 when trying to bind the iSmart app. The QR scanner opens and immediately closes. I've factory reset and wiped the phone and only installed the iSmart app back on to try and fix it, but it's doing the same. I'm not sure if it's a phone issue or the app?
Is there a way to manually enter the vehicle identification to bind the app?
Any other pixel 8 users with the current updates as of 10/12/2024 having this issue?

I think I managed to get it working on my Pixel 9 Pro.
I uninstalled the app and during reinstallation, before logging in, I was able to change the theme from Light Theme to the 100 Years Theme.
After that, I logged in and the app seems to be working correctly.
However, if I change the theme back to Light Theme, the app crashes.
For now, I'll stick with the 100 Years Theme, which seems to work reliably.


I believe the issues started with the Android security update from May 5th, but it could also be due to an app update that happened in the following days.
