My Thailand model X (same as the UK Trophy I believe) was supplied with a dumb 7kW wall charger and the iSmart Android App. Both charger and app seem pretty useless as far as charging management goes as the wall charger needs to be in Bluetooth range and it appears there's no way to schedule charge times or set capacity limits on that or the app. Up to now I've got by with educated guesses but a Time Of Use tariff is now available in my area and I want to be able to schedule night time charging up to say 75%. on a regular basis.
I guess I could replace the MG charger with an intelligent unit that would allow programing, but I get the impression that owners in Europe can use iSmart (or the car firmware) to do the job. In the first instance should I try to get hold of a UK or Australian version of iSmart and see if that solves the issue (and works with my car)?
Your thoughts on this, warmly appreciated. In the meantime Happy New Year to everyone on this useful forum :)

Well I've got it on my phone, but I'm not sure how to set it. At the moment it's unresponsive, maybe because it's not plugged into the charger. You're lucky to get a 7kW unit, we only got a 1.4kW unit.
I haven't used the scheduled facility, I just charge it when there's enough power in the solar system, to not need grid input. And that varies all the time.

In the app, when you check on your battery state of charge / charge options, there is a little cog in the top right, here you can set schedules through the car (in the UK and AU app, we have the same one) but I don’t know the ins and outs as I only charge public at the moment

I found the Charge Schedule menu more by luck than judgement and gave it two trials but it didn't appear to work. Yesterday, I went back to manual mode which isn't too inconvenient as our Time of use tariff is off peak all weekend. The battery was at about 50% when I restarted charging mid afternoon after a short trip, but it looks like there's a problem with the MG wall charger which has behaved fine for the last six months or so. Here's the story:
Connected the car and used the card to authorise the charger in the normal way, but after the charge plug locked into place, and the charger announced "Charging" the progress indicator lights remained blue and the plug lock disengaged after a couple of seconds. The flashing lights on the charger (usually white) turned red and it then went into a cycle of announcing "Charging", releasing the plug lock, waiting a second or so, re-engaging the plug lock, pausing another second and starting over: my meter was only showing about 5Kw and 8Amps (normally about 30 Amps and 7Kw so either the car or the charger needs some attention. I'm just off to the local dealer to show them the video that I've attached to this post. Anyone had an experience like this?
