MG iSMART app Token Expired

Has anybody been kicked out of their iSMART app with the message ‘Token expired’ then can’t log in again saying the login details are incorrect ie username/email ! ??
I tried logging in with my email address and also phone number but it wouldn’t accept these??
I have now had to create a new login with my email address but have to wait 72 hours to bind to my car again !!
What’s going on?
 
Edit: just realised that the OP's issue is slightly different.

Edit2: did you create the new account using the same email address? If yes then that address was never previously registered with MG hence wouldn't have allowed you to login. 🤷‍♂️

I have the same issue. When I enter my email and password which I know are correct it says 'the email has not been registered yet'. I've had the car and email registered for years so not sure what is going on.
 
Yeah happened to me but could log in ok after 3 attempts. They’ve updated the app with a new home UI.

Well decided to start again. Went to bind the car but it tells me the car is already bound to another account which is me of course. I have to wait now as well 72 hours for the old account to be closed and then should be able to bind the car. Frustrating.
 
I signed up to my account initially using my email and the app has never let me use my phone number to sign in, even though it says my phone number is registered in my account.

I’ve been logged in with the same email for 8 months and phone number also linked.
 
I got kicked out a few days ago, couldn’t remember my password so reset it, didn’t allow me to use anything but letters and numbers though. And here (Australia) our app hasn’t even updated yet I think.
 
Me too I am now getting regular texts to say the vehicle owner transfer has started. Hoping as you say I just have to wait 72 hours to get back in

72 hours have passed.
Got this text to my phone… The pending period for unbinding has ended. The vehicle has been successfully unbound, you did not refuse in the past 72 hours.
I have now re binded the car with the app, however, it will not allow me to re bind my phone number for text notifications. It states… The mobile number is registered.
I don’t know a way to unbind the number to reset it to this binding?

This unbinding issue was caused by MGismart app being updated to a newer version.

Hi STRXpwr, I posted this below on a similar thread yesterday, I had a very frustrating time logging back in, as you can see. The other thread is MG ismart issues if you want to follow more. Maybe the two threads should be merged🤔🙂
Welcome Bhubiz, this forum is really global😃. Just yesterday ismart came up with 'token expired' which means you have to log back in, I think it's a security measure. However, after loading the app I had to renew the password which involved a verification code that lasted ten minutes. It wouldn't accept a password generated by my iPhone as there were dashes in it, which it didn't like. As I attempted to delete these dashes, and with finger trouble on the small keys, it timed out on me🤬. This happened several times. 🤬 I decided to make up my own password and I managed to get logged in within the allotted time. In doing so it revealed an update to the layout. It seemed to be quicker as well. The version I have is 3.1.0. Maybe you should check the version and see if it's up to date. Other than that it works OK, to refresh the screen just pull it down and you should get a wee rotating symbol to show it's refreshing. Hope this helps.
 
A word of warning. If you force the unbind via the app you will not be able to use the same phone number to rebind to the car. This is to prevent previous owners trying to rebind to their old car.
