Hi guys, i have just noticed that my charging port light stopped working, and realised that the last time I have seen it working was probably about two months ago. I think it was green and maybe blue?? I don't even remember but now it doesn't come on at all. I don't really need it but just out of interest, does anybody have this issue as well?

I assume the MGS5 is similar but on the MG4, which has the same problem, the fix was either to remove and replace the fuse or disconnect the 12V battery for a couple of minutes.

On the MG4 when reconnecting the battery a load of warnings will appear on the driver's screen and a request to turn the steering wheel from lock to lock a couple of times. The warnings will disappear after the car is driven for a short distance.

Just been to the dealers with mine for the same no port charge lights fault, all working now, was told it was dirt on battery connection.
Maybe they did a battery reset. Anyway works now, will see how it goes.

Update: At my second charge after working once since garage repair......
Didn't last long lights not working again! Although car charges fine.

Disappointed really, don't want to keep going back to garage which is distant or keep resetting it at the battery thanks anyway, should be fixed properly whatever it is.
Might wait til service next year.

I'd let the dealer know that the fix was only temporary but you'll wait for the first service for them to look at it again so it will be on the car's record.

I am puzzled why a 12 volt battery terminal can get SO dirty, that it can cause a fault on an almost brand new car tbh ?.
Loose connection, Yes - Dirty connection - No surely ?.
It's very likely they just went ahead and did the 12 volt reset and returned the car.
Disconnected the negative terminal on the 12 volt battery, leave disconnected for about 20 minutes, then reconnect and tighten - job done.
Probably spent all day at the garage for 20 mins of work as well !.
How frustrating.
If you have a 10mm spanner, then try it yourself and save another lost day at the dealers.
Contact the service department and tell them the problem returned and you have done a 12 volt reset yourself to save time.
Ask them to log the problem on the system, just incase the problem returns again, then it will need further investigation.

Thanks for your understanding but, I don't want to have to disconnect battery every time it goes off I think they did just disconnect it last time but can't be sure! Anyway it's happened again so obviously something's wrong somewhere, you would think they could cure it, it's charging fine. A bit poor for a new car and first time MG buyer.
Thanks for your input and help.
