MG Service Plan - Early termination

My previous two cars were Kia and the service plan was a manufacturer one, so you bought it and could use it at any dealer.

I was very surprised when getting an online quote by MG and finding that the plan just collects money on behalf of the dealer. There was no mention of being able to use the plan at other dealers, also what would happen if the dealer you selected went into administration.

The plan seems to have more negatives than plus points.

Mine is the same. MG dealership (Glyn Hopkin), administered by EMaC
My MG 5 was administered by eDynamix though it was transferred to my ZS...eventually . The dealer advised to take out a plan with them directly so that it could be transferred easily in the future . On the plus side ,it was cheaper and free MOTs for life

My dealer quoted £44 admin fee to transfer the service plan to another MG.
I guess that would be a negotiation point if I did buy a new one before it runs out.

No negotiation unfortunately. Also if yours is the same or similar to everyone else's plans there in the small print are management fees in addition to the cancellation fee that will apply. These can be considerable. Mine was £130 plus a cancellation fee of ££37 or there abouts. It was a really big rip off.

I meant negotiation on buying a new car not a new service plan.
