MG ZS EV Driver Car door handle sticking!

I live in New Zealand
I have a Dec 2022 ZS EV
MG in New Zealand have done a warranty recall for drivers door unable to be opened in some circumstances. My vehicle goes in next week.
I dont know if the recall is only for ZS EV or other models as well
By all accounts it a hardware issue, not a software issue.
I carry a couple of break glass tools in the vehicle at all times.. just to be sure

Where should I be directing the silicone? Assuming the hinge end of the handle?

I had this on a rear door when the car was about 3 months old. The door catch became increasingly hard to operate, until it failed completely and the door could not be opened from inside or outside. The supplying dealer had to take the door panel off from inside with the door shut which sounds very difficult. They fitted a complete new lock which has been fine ever since. The application of oil and/or silicone lubricant made no difference.
