ZS EV
Hi,

Recently purchased a 2021 ZS Exclusive EV. Like new, one owner, with only 34K miles on the clock. However, only took a test-drive on main roads and car was fine. But driving from my house on bumpy side roads I've noticed several "rattles"; B-pillar, dashboard, lower behind dashboard etc.

Car performs very well both locally on main roads and long motorway journeys without any noise, and I am very pleased with it. But, had to take a taxi (Honda EV) the other other day down my road and not a sound inside, same as my trusty old Merc that I sadly had to scrap.

Do any other owners experience a few random noises in their vehicle? Would appreciate any comments.

My 2020 zs has only one rattle somewhere behind the instruments/air vent but can only here it when musics off .But there's no chance of reaching it and i'm not paying a stupid amount of money to get it fixed, i'll just turn up the volume.

I guess you're saying live with it. Fair comment. But thank you, now I know that another ZS EV has the problem, and presumably the vehicle is otherwise okay, so I don't need to worry about it.

Thanks for advice MG Clive. Have been for a test drive down a side road with service manager and he acknowledged the noise. Dealership manager agreed could be dealt with under warranty, so that's good.

My ZS EV was new in Jan this year. It was fine for a couple of weeks then developed a creaking chattering noise from the dash. Couldn't see anything obvious but the noise was getting louder & more frequent. I was too busy to take it back to the dealer at that time so just kept driving it with the intention to pop in to the dealer at a later time. The car performed perfectly & was/is a pleasure to drive.

Then I noticed that on warm days the chattering creak seemed to be less & even go away. But in cold days it was worse & very loud. Then someone on here mentioned that the noise wasn't from the dash even though it sounded like it. It was in fact coming from the front scuttle where the wipers are & it's the rubber seal outside the car moving against the windscreen. All I had to do was remove the scuttle panel & clean & lube the rubber seal with some inert silicone grease. It must be inert so it doesn't harm the seal. Then pop it back together. No more noise! Worked a treat. Or you can use weatherproof felt tape between the seal & screen. Works just as well. Dunno about any other rattles.
