MG ZS tailgate question..

When you say “normal” ZS - I presume you mean the ICE version ?.
Well, its the same bodyshell mainly, so you would expect it to be the same then 🤷🏻.
Call your local dealer and ask them is the actual hatch, is the same part number for both EV and ICE.

Yes, as @Lovemyev says, the same bodyshell will have the same tailgate, the only difference would be if, for example, one model had a spoiler, and another didn't, in which case one would have holes for the spoiler fixings, and the other wouldn't, but the basic shape and size of the tailgate would be the same.

@Steve1975 You don’t say why you are considering replacing the hatch ?.
I can only assume it had become damaged in some way ?.
If so, then sourcing a replacement panel in the correct colour is a great idea.
It has to be a “bolt of bolt on” item surely ?.
Two person job for sure, given the weight of the hatch, that will include the HRW glass.
Oh….. The heating element lines on the inside of the glass, needs protects when handling the hatch, they are easily scratched which will make the HRW useless!.
The wiring loom from the ZS ICE is likely to be different than the ZS EV, but you will be removing it from your car anyway.
I can’t think of any other reason why a ICE hatch would not fit the ZS EV tbh ?.
Yeah - The lake of rear spoiler maybe ?.
But these can sometimes be attached at the factory by the use of strong two sided tape believe it or not.

Sorry new here so finding my way round. You’re right, a photo would have helped. The tailgate is a right off. I’ve found a few on eBay that look identical but don’t say “ZS EV” only IVE versions.

Ouch 😩 !.
E.bay item in colour as well Steve ?.
Any photos provided by the seller ?.

Hoping it’s a straight swop, I appreciate they’ll be lots of searing during fitting.
Shame it’s the wrong shade of blue.
Having it painted first I guess 🤷🏻.
With two people lifting, once you get a couple nuts in place to secure it, then snap the struts in place then your pretty much sorted after a bit of fiddling with the alignment, but there will be witness marks on the shell where the old hinges where located, if not try marking around the hinges before you remove the hatch 👍
Hopefully it still has the hinges in place ?.
