You don't need to wait. If It won't go into gear straight away just press the start button again and it will be ok.

I linked mine up last week with no issue. I can lock/unlock and turn on the aircon.
I downloaded the app, registered and went into bind in the infotainment settings. I think your dealer is bluffing.

Looks like Arnold Clark at Linwood could not work out what was wrong. I think you are right.

I got into the car yesterday afternoon and it would not go into gear, the engine started but no matter what I did it was frozen in park, I tried for about 5 minutes.

I gave up and rang the dealer. I got the one with a brain and he said does it say ready on the screen, err no, he said to press the stop/start button and then press it again, and it worked then, but it seems sometimes it takes a while to be READY, not too keen on that at all, what's it waiting for?

I drive various electric vans at work and they all occasionally fail to go into drive, or appear to have gone into drive, but nothing happens. They are computers and like all computers, they sometimes fail to start properly. Our MG3 has done that once and the answer is a re-boot. Switch off, leave for a minute or so and switch back on.

I would prefer it if a brand new 4 day old car just worked but fortunately, I had the dealers number in my phone and the one who answered was aware of the problem and I'd told the boss about it but if it had been her who discovered it she would never trust the car again on her own.

From my experience most are completely without brains, or the more likely situation - they've got your money, so can't be bothered to talk to you, or if they haven't got your money they still can't be bothered! That said, the saleswoman at my dealership was pretty good, although the service dept when I turned up for a part to be replaced under warranty hadn't got a clue...
As I've said elsewhere on this site, with the Cyberster and potentially other upmarket products, they will need to up their game. Particularly so with MG UK Customer service who encompass all the worst straights of the dealerships.
Mores the pity cos their products are becoming really good!

Which is dirt cheap and well made it will make sure the key ring CANNOT pop open to lose your keys or the MG Key.

Boot won't lock

The boss just got home, used the fob button to unlock the boot and now it won't lock, I've tried shutting it with it unlocked and locked makes no difference, might even have been like this all along as we haven't needed it much, rung dealer no one in service so have to wait til Monday. Any ideas?

Great video. I did not know about being able to swipe down and switch off lane keep assist.

Can anyone explain how the camera is supposed to work when turning?. Sometimes it comes on when I am turning sometimes it doesn't.

For example at a junction performing RH turn it does not come on. Then other times it does. Very confused on how this feature works. Going through the menus can't see any on/off toggle

It senses speed, too fast and it won't work, slow down and indicate.


I have it on a star now.

I think you have to put an indicator on, without it even at low speed it won't show up by itself.

Ok I need to put a few more miles on the clock and do some slow turns to see what happens. This car has a lot of tech I know how Kirk felt when Scotty is explaining warp drive ?

To switch off the overly load bongs when you approach speed cameras can be disabled in the settings section of the sat navigation menu.

Can you please show where to switch off I couldn't find it.

Did you ever find out why it did that. We've just git a new MG3 hybrid and it did the same to us today, we had to switch it off and on twice before we could engage reverse, really strange and disconcerting

As far as I can tell, it's just being ready before the car is, seems a bit naff to me.
