MG4 - How do I turn it off..?

Does anyone know if LO
Don't lock it until you've done what you want to do inside the car. I really can't see the issue? It's not as if the battery is going to be run down by the radio/screen/interior light, they won't affect it for hours and even then not buy much at all, even if the head/tail lights are on, they're low consumption LEDs. Had my car for 6 months now and use the door button to lock or leave it unlocked until I've done whatever I want to do on the inside. Never, ever an issue. Crikey, how did some people manage with simple things like putting on a cloth mask during Covid? - I'll tell you, many, many couldn't even manage that, a simple 5s task with lots of moaning, groanin, claims of CO2 poisoning (lol), breach of 'uman rights etc, etc. ***
I would think insulting strangers who simply don't want their car left on for hours at a time is not the best way to elevate your point...

Lights on...radio on...you're saying everyone should just leave it until the next day? Why bother with an off mode at all right? Lets all just leave our cars on...permanently.

Not sure this is the most sage advice but thank you anyway.

why would you leave car unlocked until the next day? That surely would invalidate your insurance policy. I think you're actually insulting yourself lol

I have a question (I am at my desk so can't test this) but isn't there a 'lock/unlock' rocker in the driver door panel? What is the effect of toggling this once you're in park? In theory its the 'lock' action...does that turn anything off? Ideas?

ah, I just realised that these are your first posts, enuff said, just 'sayin based on lots of experience!

So 'hours' is perfectly reasonable...but not if they after sunset...apparently because thats bad.

You'll understand my confusion.

I am puzzled by your hostility on this. You have suggested I can't put on a mask, or something which felt vaguely insulting...and now I am disqualified from asking a question because I am new..? @MG Clive is a mod on this thread I am certain if I was breaking any rule he would have been kind enough to tell me?

Yes there's a lock/unlock switch on the door, but it doesn't turn anything off, and when the door is open it does nothing at all.

What would happen though if the driver gets out, the car comes out of ready state, and say a passenger locks the car using the internal button? Does the car turn off because "no bum on drivers seat + lock = off"? Not much of a solution, but just got me wondering.

It’s one of those things that although I don’t feel bothered by it, it does make me think would I have preferred something else instead. For example would I enjoy having TPMS sensors that know which corner they are on, instead of a car that turns on when I sit down?

Maybe this system is cheaper than installing a physical button, but I doubt it.

I'd lay a bet. (And I think me money would be safe). If a manufacturer made a "perfect" car, that addressed every single "problem" mentioned on this forum. And of course other forum's. So it was literally spot on. Someone would find summut wrong, somewhere. 🙂👍
