When the app reports that the doors are closed, does it mean that they are just closed or locked? I suspect that it reports closed even if one forgets to lock the car.

Try unlocking the door with the app or unlocking the door without opening it.
Then check the app

The app reports that the complete lock mechanism has been activated even if a door is left open. It reports doors are closed or open. If closed they are locked. The status of individual doors can be checked via the arrow icon.

It cannot tell you that an individual closed door is locked.
