I also found the rear view camera (not 360°) for less than €160 from the SAIC brand. But before buying I need to check what's behind the passenger glove compartment...

That’s cool to retro fit a rear camera

how would the 360 camera work, wouldn't that require a camera to also be installed in the front of the car? ( which would mean maybe the front bumper assembly needs to be changed?)

The Trophy has front and rear cameras as well as one in the bottom of each door mirror so you would need to change the door mirrors too.
You would also need the software to stitch the images seamlessly together and the cameras properly aligned to give the 360 top down view.

Had a good look around and can't see anyone here having fitted one of these so I've ordered one.

£114 on the day and AliExpress have to add Vodka And Tonic to it, so total of £137 - let's hope it's not money down the porcelain.

Don't expect an update before December 23.

My friend, I'm sorry. There are no installation instructions for this one for now. If you want to buy it, you can try to install it after you receive it, and if you have any questions, take pictures and record what you have questions about and send them to us. We will be happy to answer your questions and provide you with one-on-one patient guidance.

Another seller sent me these photos. I don't have the car yet; it will arrive at the end of the month.

Thank you, the last two pictures are the most helpful, I don't expect it to be rocket science. Will take lots of pictures. Just hope it lives up to expectations.

For the moment, I've only understood that you need to remove the passenger side glove compartment... there are the contacts for the camera there, right?

Sorry if this is a silly question (or is covered in another thread) - but how many revisions of the MG4 have there been in the UK, and is it only earlier ones some models don’t have the camera?

Reason I ask is every model over here has as standard either a reverse camera or the 360 camera. I’ve seen “Phase 1” and “Phase 2” mentioned elsewhere, so is that the kind of difference between them?

The SE in the UK (Excite in Oz) doesn't have a rear camera. I don't think even the Phase 2 (MY23) SE has one, but I'm happy to be corrected.

Ah, I see. Yes the Excite definitely has a reverse camera in Oz (and a printed manual which apparently not all regions get either) so I wonder if maybe they added the camera to try and get the 5 star ANCAP rating across the line..

I can confirm UK Phase 2 SE as of Nov 2023 has no rear camera just sensors

Unfortunately, even in Italy, SE is without a camera, which is the reason for my purchase. I ordered the camera from AliExpress, but I don't think I will be brave enough to install it immediately. They will deliver the car next Tuesday, and I will wait a couple of months to make sure there are no issues and to ensure that they don't attribute any warranty issues to the camera modification.

I hope that in the meantime, some brave soul has already taken many photos of the assembly process.

There's a few differences between MY22 (Phase 1) and MY23 (Phase 2).... including infotainment releases. you can tell you r vehicle - if it has a rear wiper, it's phase 2...
