Hi Everyone, apologies if this is a duplicated post however I couldn’t find any answers.

My question is regarding the 17” factory hub caps.
I’m not particularly fond of the look of them.
Would any replacement hub caps work?
There’s plenty of hub cap options online but all have this metal ring on the underside. I’m not sure what this is for and it makes me doubt if they’re compatible with MG4 wheels where the hubcaps just snap on.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You would need MG4 specific aero covers due to the way they fit onto the wheels. Have you looked at the wheels without the covers?

Replacement OEM covers seem to be going for around £70. At that price you could have the actual wheels painted if you didn't like the silver.

I have made my own inserts to replace the OEM covers, thus spare the covers from being damaged.
Also I can design my own covers to suit what I like.
These are printed in ABS (do no use PLA or PETG) as anything other than High temp materials is likely to warp on hot days and fall off.

So I have tried to get the wheels inspected for delamination and Drive stated that they will need to do a report and send it to MG to confirm it is warranty work, if it is it will be coved under warranty, if not then I would have to pay for the report (about £130), considering the inserts are £70 from MG and if they are not covered then the report is more than the replacements, I am going to replace with non-OEM but this report cost seems to be quite excessive, perhaps I am being unreasonable but what a omni-shambles

The more I hear about this type of madness (such as £130 to fill in a warranty form on the system that has to be filled in for a warranty claim) the more angry I get. I’d tell them there’s absolutely no chance they’ll get a penny out of you, and if the warranty claim isn’t submitted you’ll be staying in the building until it is. Whilst you’re there Del give the Driscoll Brothers a ring as backup 😂

The whole Drive centralised phone system and the MG centralised mafia system is not worth the bother, I'm sure some would say that is not what I should be doing but life is too short!!
